>>>12th September – International Crochet Day<<<

>>>12 Wrzesien – Miedzynarodowy Dzien Szydelkowania<<<

just found out about the newest crochet tradition reading one of my favorite blogs about crochet – SkaMama`s Bone Hook and if I remember this only second year since it has been introduced…

so, to spread the love to crochet all over, I am going to crochet in the public tomorrow (I am not gonna teach any of my kids cause I tried already – they don`t have the patience…)
and I am going to have the first give away on my blog: just leave the comment under this post, answering the question: (you do not have to be from UK, it is international candy!)

  • what do you like best in crochet? if do not do crochet and would like to, tell me why… if you do not like crochet you still can tell me why, but you might not be entered for a draw… ;]

the draw will be on Saturday night so you still have got plenty of time to do so…

losowac bede w sobotnia noc wiec jest jeszcze sporo czasu…

and the winner will choose one of those lovely crochet butterfies I am making recently, you can sew them onto something or use it as a brooch or pin it to the keyring… lots of possibilities – can`t wait to read from you…

a osoba wylosowana wybierze sobie jednego z szydelkowych motylkow ktore obecnie dziergam, mozna go na cos przyszyc albo uzywac jako broszki albo przypiac do kluczy… mnostwo mozliwosci – nie moge sie doczekac aby poczytac wasze odpowiedzi…

  1. >I don't crochet but would love to learn as it always looks so intricate and versatile!

  2. >i have tried to crochet but i just don't "get it" i'm not good at fibre arts!! i love the look of crochet though especially granny square blankets in a multitude of colours and black – lovely!

  4. >What beautiful butterflies!Crocheting is a passion of mine since my grandmother taught me how to do it with a piece of twine and a bent nail when I was small. I knit as well, but always head back to crochet..if you drop a stitch you can easily pick it up, unlike knitting which can often amount to serious tears when a dropped stitch is discovered halfway through a finished project. Crochet…it gives me the ability to create dollies and poppets on the fly, their personalities dictating the outcome more often than the pattern. I found your blog through stitchlily's site…I'll be subscribing!

  5. >I've been doing crochet since I was a kid. I never knew anyone else that crocheted, but stuck at it, because to me it is the most versatile of all crafts. I am so excited about the revival of crochet, one little hook, so many projects, so little time!

  6. >I love your butterflies. My mum taught me to crochet years ago and I just love it, I knit too but crochet is my first love, I love it because it's so portable, even a large project will squish down in your handbag, because you don't have to worry about accommodating needles too.Oh and I am a child of the 70s so granny square vests hold a certain nostalgic allure!

  7. >What absolutely gorgeous butterflies. I've made a lot of flower brooches in the past and am currently making a crocheted blanket for a friend – could take the rest of my life. Hope not! I crochet wire bracelets as well. I really love my hooks!

  8. >Lovely Butterflies! Thanks for telling us about Crochet day – I've just rediscovered it, I was taught by my Grandma many years ago. I love it's versatility and speed!

  9. >Wielkie dzięki za wieści o dniu szydełkowania – powiedziałam mojemu mężowi, a ten na to:"Widzisz wreszcie masz swoje święto ;)"Bardzo fajne motylkiPozdrowionkabeti

  10. >I adore crocheting I truly do, but unfortunately I'm appalling at it! It doesn't make sense to me the way knitting does. I'd love to be able to crochet but alas it is a skill which eludes me!

  11. >Total opposite to Vonnie! … I can't knit at all! – I've tried many times but just can't do it! So about 4 yrs ago my mum taught me to crochet and I LOVE it ; )I think it's the fact that you've just got the one hook and your using your hands more. And as others have said – it's portable … even on holidays I have my hooks tucked somewhere in a bag.

  12. >I know I'm probably too late to enter but I've only just found you're blog. I've only just started to crochet as I was recently left my grandmas sewing box and I found a crochet hook in there, I'm teaching myself and I'm loving it! I love how expressive it is and how many different things you can make. The butterflies are beautiful and a great example of this.
